FAA Broadens Order to Inspect 737 Wires

The Federal Aviation Administration ordered more stringent inspections of Boeing 737 aircraft, calling for checks of fuel tank wires in even younger planes and asking airlines to review the oldest jets. The FAA said it is giving airlines 45 days to look at 737s with 30,000 to 40,000 flight hours. An emergency order issued Sunday grounded 737s with over 50,000 hours from passenger service until similar checks were made.
