Dueling Messages From the Tower of Babel

Does bilingual education meet the needs of a specific group? You bet it does--our children born here or abroad, who will be the leaders, scientists, artists, soldiers, taxpayers and IRA contributors of tomorrow.
Look to the Bible for wisdom beyond political fashion. The Tower of Babel incident shows that God deemed monolingualism to be a real and present danger to him. In the New Testament, the apostles were visited by the Holy Spirit and then began to speak in diverse tongues.
Clearly, twice Dios has put an unequivocal seal of approval on the speaking of several languages. Or is there an apocryphal commandment that says “English only?”
