Donnell Jones, the Orange County bus driver who helped rescue an 8-year-old Anaheim boy last month, was honored at the OCTA board meeting Monday. Jones, of Lake Forest, was credited with taking action to prevent potential endangerment of a child. The boy, Carlos Hill, had been missing from his mother’s home since early in the afternoon Oct. 28. He and his adult companion, a family acquaintance who did not have permission to be with the boy, had been passengers on Jones’ bus earlier in the day. Jones spotted Hill in tears on the street in Huntington Beach that evening and pulled his bus over to find out what was wrong.
