Los Alamitos, Orange County’s top-ranked football team and seeded second in the Division I playoffs, will host Fontana in a second-round game Friday. The Griffins defeated Lakewood, 45-14, in its playoff opener.
The Griffins caught a break because top-seeded Long Beach Poly has to travel to Los Angeles Loyola in the second round. Poly and Los Alamitos share the same home field, Veterans Stadium in Long Beach.
In other Division I games involving Orange County teams, Mater Dei travels to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and Trabuco Hills hosts La Puente Bishop Amat.
In Division VI, Woodbridge hosts Katella; Servite travels to Villa Park; Tustin is at home against Santa Margarita; and Irvine visits Cypress.
In Division IX, Western hosts Pacifica, and Brea Olinda travels to Fullerton.
In Division XI, Orange Lutheran hosts Carpinteria.
