Newport Harbor American Legion Post 291 named its firefighter and marine safety officer of the year at its 33rd annual Law and Order Night last weekend. Rob Beuch, a Newport Beach firefighter since 1980, organizes the city’s annual Public Safety Day and other events. Brent Jacobsen has worked since 1987 as a lifeguard in Newport Beach, where he is involved with employee associations and civic projects. Beuch and Jacobsen received their awards Saturday at the Legion post on the Balboa Peninsula.
