Blood Donors Needed During Holidays

Saying that their blood supply is running short, officials at United Blood Services of Ventura County are seeking healthy blood donors to fulfill the agency’s need for at least 600 donations a week.
During the holidays, regular donors often miss appointments or are too busy to donate blood, agency spokeswoman Patty Hunt said.
“We’re talking to a lot of people who . . . just aren’t able to donate right now,” Hunt said. “This is a tough time of year to meet patients’ needs.”
Residents may make appointments to donate blood at centers in Ventura, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley.
