Celebrities will help Guadalupe Homes for Children at the first VOTE (Video Outreach for Teen Education) awards in Irvine today.
Winning film entries, submitted by various California at-risk children, will be produced into public service announcements encouraging children to stay off drugs and away from gangs.
Actors James Villani (“Hang Time”), Alisa Reyes (“One World”) and Ricky Luna (“Mickey Mouse Club”) will present the VOTE awards, which were judged by actors Billy Zane, Cheech Marin and “The View” talk show co-host Debbie Matenopoulos.
Admission is $2, which will be donated to Guadalupe Homes. The event will take place from 1 to 9 p.m. at St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church, 4949 Alton Parkway, Irvine.
