With the Dodgers rejecting an offer to move their spring training home to Arizona, Las Vegas officials plan to renew efforts to lure the team to Nevada. Officials there envision the Dodgers as the main attraction in a proposed four-team, $50-million complex in suburban Henderson, with the Houston Astros, Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays among other possible tenants.
Don Logan, general manager of the triple-A Las Vegas Stars, said the Dodgers would be a perfect fit there. The Dodger games already are broadcast on a local radio station.
“We’ve been Padre affiliates for 17 years, but this is still a Dodger town,” Logan said. “They’re Dodger fans here.”
