The City Council on Wednesday will hold its first meeting since James E. Thorpe surprised the city by resigning as mayor.
The council is slated to vote for a new mayor and mayor pro tem at the meeting, according to city staff reports.
The City Council also is scheduled to vote on a city mission statement. Councilwoman Brenda B. Ross presented a proposal at last month’s meeting requesting the council’s input. Ross created a final draft based on the council’s suggestions.
The open meeting is at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Leisure World’s Administration Building.
