Gun Show Income

* The demand by Fairplex President James Henwood that the county offset any loss of income if gun shows were banned (Aug. 16) is both arrogant and irresponsible. If the county and Fairplex cannot eliminate the sale of illegal weapons at the shows, the only responsible course for government is to shut them down. Public safety must override any threat to Fairplex’s economic viability. It’s incredible that Fairplex management would allow 30% of its net income to come from a single source, particularly one which has questionable public benefits.
