Golden West Wins to Gain Final

Julie Renfrow had 11 kills and Marissa Cothran had 29 assists to help Golden West defeat San Joaquin Delta, 15-10, 15-3, 15-5, in the winners’ bracket final of the women’s volleyball state championships at Pasadena City College Saturday.

The Rustlers (26-0) advanced to the title match today at 5 p.m. against an opponent to be determined earlier today.

San Joaquin Delta fell to 25-1.

Irvine Valley was ousted by Santa Barbara, 15-12, 15-9, 15-6.

In the wrestling state championships:

Rustlers take ninth--Golden West placed ninth with 20 1/2 points, followed by Santa Ana with 19 1/2. Moorpark took first with 45 points and Palomar was second with 43.
