* Film. A new 35-millimeter print of Orson Welles’ 1963 film “The Trial,” based on Franz Kafka’s landmark novel, runs Dec. 17-21 at the Nuart. The film stars Anthony Perkins, Welles and Jeanne Moreau, with Perkins playing a young clerk who is arrested, tried and executed, although he never knows for what crime. * Art. The traveling multimedia exhibition “Kerry James Marshall: Mementos” opens Dec. 17 at the Santa Monica Museum of Art, 2525 Michigan Ave., G-1, Santa Monica. Organized by the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago, the exhibition features paintings, sculpture, prints and video that offer a compelling commentary on black culture in America in the late 20th century.
