Eight juveniles who allegedly vandalized Moorpark High School and various locations around the downtown area have been arrested over the last week, according to law enforcement officials.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department arrested seven students from Moorpark High and one from Community High, said Det. Alan Devers, who added that more arrests are planned.
In late November, detectives began investigating graffiti at Moorpark High. “We did some follow-up investigations on it and found the suspects,” Devers said.
By interviewing suspects in the school vandalism, investigators identified additional suspects they believed responsible for graffiti in other locations, Devers said.
The graffiti included gang names, Devers said.
“When we look at this, we look at the location, monikers and the messages,” Devers said.
Police arrested all the suspects at school, cited and released them, and contacted their parents.
