In pool play at the Villa Park girls’ water polo tournament:
No. 2 Villa Park 17, Sonora 1--Meghan Michel, Cindy Henn and Kristyn Pulver combined for 13 goals, six by Michel, for host Villa Park (2-1), which advanced to the quarterfinals to play Marina.
No. 5 Marina 14, Brea Olinda 5--Cara Chlebicki scored six goals and Shauna Neilson four for Marina (3-1).
No. 4 Santa Margarita 17, Buena Park 1--Kelly Yoder scored five goals for Santa Margarita (4-0), which advanced to play Carlsbad in the quarterfinals.
In nonleague girls’ water polo:
No. 9 Esperanza 8, No. 7 El Dorado 5--Teresa Guidi scored two of her team-high three goals in the first quarter to help Esperanza (5-1) to a 4-3 lead. Heather Stamper scored twice to lead El Dorado (5-2), which trailed, 7-4, after three quarters.
