The Los Altos Conquerors (13-1) finally turned the tables on Miramonte League foe and defending division champion Charter Oak, 33-3, at Citrus College in Glendora before a crowd of 5,000.
The loss snapped the Chargers’ 27-game winning streak after their perfect 1998 season.
Los Altos used the running of Joey Gonzalez, who carried 16 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns of 43 and 11 yards.
DIVISION VIII
Bloomington’s Artie Allen rushed for 194 yards in 25 carries and Ronnie Adams added 180 yards in 26 carries as the Bruins won their fourth consecutive title in a 36-20 victory at Barstow.
In all, Bloomington (11-3) rushed for 456 yards while passing only twice. Barstow (12-2) was led by Ahmad Hawkings, who rushed for 117 yards in 13 carries, scoring two touchdowns.
DIVISION XI
St. Bonaventure (14-0) recovered an errant snap on a punt deep in Nordhoff territory and the Seraphs rallied for a 22-15 victory over the Rangers (11-3) at Ventura High.
St. Bonaventure linebacker David Garza scored the winning touchdown on a one-yard run on fourth down with 11 seconds to play after the Seraphs trailed, 15-14, most of the fourth quarter.
DIVISION XII
Lancaster Paraclete throttled Malibu Kilpatrick from start to finish and claimed a 43-6 victory and its third conseuctive section title at Antelope Valley College.
Sophomore running back Curtis Brown rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns in 18 carries.
DIVISION XIII
Morgan Booth threw three touchdown passes, two to Kirk Herald, as Pasadena Poly won its first section title with a 21-14 victory against Arrowhead Christian at South Pasadena High.
