About 800 people attended the annual Black and White ball benefit sponsored by 100 Black Men of Orange County on Sunday at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.
During the “Leadership for the New Millennium” gala, seven community leaders received the group’s 100 Award for their dedication to improving the quality of life in Orange County: Tralance Addy, Sylvia Turner, Pamela Austin, R. Guy Vickers, Dorothy Koll Caillouette, James Caillouette and Phillip Montez. Mercedes Benz, USA Inc., received the Corporate Partner of the Year award. Left, Fardous Hagi and Abdi Ahmed of Mission Viejo enjoy the evening.
Net proceeds of about $50,000 will go toward the group’s outreach programs that support minority students in the areas of self-awareness, cultural history, skill development, leadership and social responsibility. (949) 725-9774.
