Funeral-Bound Car in Accident

A funeral procession hardly skipped a beat Tuesday morning when one of its cars was involved in a chain-reaction accident on the Hollywood Freeway.
Four cars had minor damage in the accident, which occurred shortly before noon, said an investigator for the California Highway Patrol.
The mishap began when a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant veered into the path of a 1978 Chevrolet pickup truck, which then hit a 1997 Mazda Millenia on its left and a 1998 Ford Expedition on its right, the investigator said.
The Expedition was part of a funeral procession, which continued to Forest Lawn cemetery while the cars involved in the accident moved to the shoulder. But the pickup left the scene until the driver of the Expedition chased him down after vehicles exited the freeway, the investigator said.
No serious injuries were reported.
