Lawrence tied for third in the Ping Arizona Intercollegiate at the Raven Club in Tucson last week. The Tucson native shot 211, including a 66 the first day. He holds the course record at Raven Club, a 64 in the Arizona State Amateur last summer.

THIS WEEK

Men’s basketball: The team’s losing streak has reached nine, seven shy of the school record, with four consecutive road games ahead of them. This week, Irvine is at Utah State at 9 p.m. Thursday and at Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Women’s basketball: Megan Stafford ranks 19th nationally in assists. Shannon Anders had a career-high 19 points Sunday against Cal State Fullerton. She gets another chance at the last-place Titans at 2 p.m. Sunday at Irvine.

Men’s tennis: The doubles team of Chris Chung and Chris Ma is ranked 50th nationally. UCI plays No. 15 USC at 1:30 p.m. today and hosts Oregon at noon Sunday.

Women’s tennis: Irvine plays at Cal State Fullerton at 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Track and field: Irvine opens the season with Long Beach Relays beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday at Long Beach State.

Men’s volleyball: The Anteaters host San Diego State at 7 tonight.

Swimming: The men’s and women’s teams visit Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Saturday.
