PLACENTIA

For the past 10 years, James and Evon Yeoman have sold staples like milk, eggs and bread to Placentia residents. They have also sold plenty of dreams for those who want to get rich. Since they opened shop in 1989, Cobblestone Village Liquor on East Orangethorpe Avenue has sold $5.8 million in California lottery tickets, said store manager Bruce Maag, who said more than 1 million of the tickets netted a small winning for holders. The store was recently named March’s Retailer of the Month, selected by the California State Lottery from 18,000 retailers across the state. An awards ceremony will take place at the store at 11 a.m. March 8.
