Brea Can’t Stop Don Lugo’s Taurasi, Suffers Third Loss

Helping to erase a five-point Brea Olinda lead at halftime, Diana Taurasi scored 14 of her 44 points in the third quarter to lead Chino Don Lugo to a 74-66 victory in the semifinals of the Chino Hills Ayala girls’ basketball tournament Thursday.
Taurasi, who made three three-pointers and 13 of 14 free throws, helped the Conquistadores outscore the Ladycats in the third quarter, 22-7, to take command.
Chelsea Trotter had 19 points and six rebounds and Lindsay Davidson had 11 points for Brea (10-3).
