Ignore Negative Publicity; Take the Kids to See ‘Babe’ Sequel
- Share via
I hope the negative publicity surrounding the release of “Babe; Pig in the City” will not deter fans of the first movie from heading posthaste to the theater to catch this charmer.
My friend and I, both in our late 40s, experienced the movie in a nearly empty theater. The few children in the theater were quiet, well-behaved and enthralled with the story. It was funny, touching and thought-provoking.
Too dark for children? I think not. As a volunteer at the San Clemente Animal Shelter, I think it’s important to teach our children compassion toward all living creatures at an early age.
To see the reality of what could happen to our “disposable” animal companions would make a good topic for families to discuss over dinner after the movie. One hopes ham will not be served.
