Ready to toss the holiday greeting cards in the trash? Consider dropping them off at one of two local Department of Water and Power customer service offices, where they will be used to help support St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, a nonprofit organization that serves abused, neglected and troubled kids.
Children at the site will use the decorative part of the old cards to make new cards, which are sold to raise funds for programs.
In the San Fernando Valley, cards can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays until Jan. 29 at the Canoga Park Service Center, 7229 Winnetka Ave., or the Van Nuys Service Center, 6550 Van Nuys Blvd. For more information, call (800) DIALDWP or (800) 342-5397.
