The City Council this week sent a proposed ordinance that would protect coastal views from being obstructed by trees back to the Planning Commission for additional review.
Residents said such an ordinance would preserve the beauty of the city, but some council members said they “didn’t want to be the parents of everybody” and thought the issues should be handled “on a neighbor-to-neighbor basis.” The issue will, however, be presented to the council again at a later date.
