Pat Degnan, former football coach at Alemany High, has been hired to take over the program at Quartz Hill High.
He replaces John Albee, who resigned after 31 seasons.
Once one of the region’s prominent teams, the Rebels have not won a Golden League game since 1996 under Albee.
“We’re very excited,” Athletic Director Coy Ray said. “We think we made an excellent choice.”
Degnan served as offensive coordinator at Golden League rival Littlerock, which claimed its first league championship last season.
