The city’s public library will begin its move to a larger space in the City Hall building today.
Now housed in a leased space at Parkway Calabasas Shopping Center, the library will move to a 4,000-square-foot area recently vacated at City Hall, 26135 W. Mureau Road.
The new space is more than twice as large as the previous location and will offer a computer lab, a children’s reading room, a recreational area and more parking, said City Clerk Robin Parker.
Also, the lighting will be better, and an exhibit of artwork will be on loan through the Calabasas Arts Council, she said.
Workers need to install shelves and move about 14,000 books to the new location. The library will reopen Feb. 9.
