Check out the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s Web site at https://www.lasvegas24hours.com and click on “Celebrate the Millennium in Vegas!” Scores of hotels are listed with toll-free phones, Web sites and reservation status, but no prices. Prepare for some sticker shock when you call: MGM Grand last week was quoting $1,100 per room per night, with a three-night minimum, and Circus Circus was quoting only $399 per room per night, with a four-night minimum. The Web site is updated once a month.
