The City Council tonight will consider adopting the Weed Abatement Program’s report for fiscal year 1998-99. The Public Works Agency operates a year-round program to keep private properties free of weeds and rubbish. City sanitation inspectors notify property owners of unsightly or unsafe conditions; owners are given a chance to rectify the situation, and if they don’t, the city does the cleanup. This year, there are $97,031 in outstanding charges to 198 parcels cleaned by the city contractor. The council meets at 6 p.m. in chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Information: (714) 647-5238.
