Man Kills Self After Ambushing Ex-Wife

A man who recently lost custody of his daughters shot his ex-wife to death during her morning jog and then killed himself. Detectives believe Dr. Scott Chester Stone, of Tarboro, N.C., hid in a wooded area to wait for his wife, Dr. Marisa Deneen Jackson. She and the couple’s daughters, ages 6 and 8, had been staying in Southlake, Texas, an upscale suburb of Fort Worth, with Stone’s sister. A divorce court in North Carolina awarded custody of the girls to their mother last week.
