Fireworks Over the Holiday Weekend

The top seven films each grossed more than $10 million, led by the Warner Bros. sci-fi western “Wild Wild West,” which took in $36.4 million over the four-day Fourth of July holiday weekend. “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut” grossed $14.8 million to debut in fourth place, while Spike Lee’s “Summer of Sam” opened at No. 8 with about $8 million in ticket sales.
