Group Issues Call for Blood Donors

Struggling to meet local needs, United Blood Services of Ventura County is asking healthy residents to donate blood.
Summertime is typically a dry time for the agency because many regular donors are on vacation and unable to donate, said agency spokeswoman Patty Hunt.
Donor centers are located in Ventura, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. Those who would like to donate blood may call 654-8104 or (800) 715-3699 to make an appointment.
