The City Council on Wednesday will determine whether Laguna Woods should begin the process of applying for its own ZIP Code. City Manager Leslie Keane said that without an independent ZIP Code, nationwide databases won’t recognize Laguna Woods. “We are our own city,” Keane said, “but right now, when people punch in our ZIP Code, it comes out as Laguna Hills.” The council meets at 2 p.m. at the Leisure World Administration Building, 23522 Paseo de Valencia. Information: (949) 452-0600.
