Cypress College announced this week it is jumping online with a New Media Production course that will replace its existing newspaper program. The course, which will give students a hands-on look at publishing on the Internet, begins this fall. The changes have been made because students expressed great interest in new media, said Robert Mercer, the newspaper advisor.

The campus newspaper, the Chronicle, will also post online beginning Aug. 18 at https://cychron.com. For information about the program, call (714) 484-7269.
