Applications to attend a Citizen Police Academy offered by the Laguna Beach Police Department are due Aug. 6. The 10-week course is designed to educate the community about police programs and policies. Applicants must work or live in Laguna Beach, be at least 18 and have no pending civil or criminal cases with the city. The course will be held Wednesdays from 7 to 10 p.m. beginning Sept. 1.
