Despite a decades-long bull market, some of us still suffer from “investaphobia,” as Money magazine Senior Editor Walter Updegrave puts it. And as Updegrave sees it, the retirement work sheets and fancy pie charts found in many of today’s investing-for-beginners books might actually confuse some beginners instead of enlighten them. So he throws out all that stuff in this breezy, sometimes irreverent book and cuts to the chase--offering basic but sound advice on how to save money and how to identify good mutual funds, stocks and professional advisors.
