Capizzi Seeks Slot of Retiring Judge

Former Orange County Dist. Atty. Mike Capizzi has thrown his hat in the ring for a Superior Court judgeship.

“I have enjoyed serving the people of Orange County my entire career, and I look forward to continuing to serve them in the capacity of Superior Court judge,” he said Wednesday.

Capizzi, whose prosecution of fellow Republicans in an election case angered party leaders, filed papers Tuesday to run in the March election to fill the seat of retiring Judge Gary Ryan.

So far, Capizzi is the only candidate. The filing deadline is next Wednesday.
