What’s a ‘Jingle Jungle Holiday’?
“Have you tried our holiday popcorn balls?” It’s a question you’re supposed to hear these days at Disneyland, where Christmas lasts two months. Little is left to chance, and holiday scripts have been distributed to the “cast” so employees will say the right thing to patrons.
In the park’s Adventureland section, the certified seasonal remark is: “Have a jingle jungle holiday.” Tomorrowland: “Have a merry millennium.” Frontierland: “Ho ho howdy.” And at the Country Bear Jamboree, things are even more, uh, unbearable: “Thanks for coming out of hibernation to see us.”
Last year, workers were coached to ask if parkgoers had visited Disneyland during the holidays before. If the answer was yes, the recommended reply was: “I thought I’d seen you before. Welcome home.”
