Some Lexington High School students skipped school Wednesday and went on a field trip to Knott’s Berry Farm--and didn’t get in trouble.
The outing was their reward for raising more than $62,000 for their high school during this year’s Fit-A-Thon competition.
The 340 students who participated in the weeklong event each had to raise a minimum of $125 in order to be eligible for the trip.
Every year business owners and residents pledge and donate money to students who participate in physical fitness events. This year’s competitions included sit-ups, push-ups, running and jumping rope.
