SAN CLEMENTE

The Thanksgiving leftovers will barely be chilled when San Clemente kicks off the holiday season this Saturday with the annual tree-lighting ceremony and the downtown merchants’ annual holiday program.
The tree lighting will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Ole Hanson Room of the San Clemente Community Center, 100 N. Seville. Visitors will have an opportunity to choose a tag from the Angel Tree and provide a Christmas gift for a needy child or senior citizen.
Immediately following the tree lighting, the downtown merchants will begin their program along Avenida del Mar, featuring children’s activities, live music and free refreshments.
