Steve Blowers Heads Region for Ship Line

* Steve Blowers has taken over the position of general manager, Western region for Australia-New Zealand Direct Line in Santa Ana. He succeeds Sunil Chopra, who was appointed director of sales in Sydney. Blowers had been the shipping line’s national sales manager, Australia.
* Sherry Harton has joined California Utility Co. in Irvine as director of operations. She was previously acting controller of the Irvine Ranch Water District.
* Gary Peto has joined Sage Software Inc. in Irvine as director of field sales. Peto was the founder of MicroAccounting Solutions, which was sold to Brunswick Integrated Computers.
* Kim Shepherd has been named national director of staffing for Strategic HR Services in Newport Beach. The company acquired her Laguna Hills-based recruitment firm, Profile Strategies. Before beginning her human resources career in 1993, Shepherd spent 11 years in broadcast journalism. She was a foreign correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning News, Hollywood bureau chief for Entertainment Tonight and color commentator for NBC Sports and ESPN Sports Network.
