Imagineering Exec to Move to Buy.com

In a move marking the latest defection by a mainstream entertainment executive to an Internet start-up, Web retailer Buy.com Inc. said it has hired Mitch Hill, 40, chief financial officer of Imagineering, Walt Disney Co.’s theme park and resort design unit. Hill will join Mission Viejo-based Buy.com as CFO on Nov. 1. He succeeds Allen Barbieri, who resigned for personal reasons, Buy.com said. Hill said his compensation includes options to buy stock in Buy.com, which intends to offer its shares to the public in the near future.
