The Brea Olinda school board approved spending $18,000 for the Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment program. The program is an induction process that seeks to help beginning teachers with difficulties they experience in their new roles and help them grow accustomed to the various techniques involved in teaching. The board also passed a resolution to participate in a state program to curb school violence. If the district fills out its application by Friday, it could receive money to hire another school security guard.
