Ovens Could Open at High Temperatures

WASHINGTON — Amana Appliances is recalling more than 5,000 gas-fueled, down-draft ovens that have faulty locks. The ovens can open during the self-clean cycle, exposing people to high temperatures, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
No injuries have been reported.
The commission said customers should stop using the self-cleaning feature but can continue to use the ovens for cooking.
The oven comes in either black or white. The model number AGDS901E or AGDS901WW appears on the lower left side behind the utility drawer.
Customers should call Amana for free replacements at (800) 266-3535.
