O.C. BUSINESS PLUS : ORANGE COUNTY BRIEFLY : PharMerica Sells Its Life Cycles Group

Orange-based Bergen Brunswig Corp. said its PharMerica Inc. unit has sold its Life Cycles software group to Achieve Healthcare Information Systems and agreed to a partnership with the long-term care provider. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
The companies said Achieve Healthcare will integrate the Life Cycles products with its product line, and PharMerica will sell Achieve’s PathLinks software. The Life Cycles software will be available to customers until the end of 2000, the companies said.
The companies also will develop Web-based products and services for long-term-care customers through PharMerica’s pharmacies. They expect to release the new products and services by next summer.
Closely held Achieve Healthcare, of Eden Prairie, Minn., serves more than 3,500 clients.
PharMerica provides pharmacy products and services to about 500,000 patients.
