Irvine University is favored to repeat as Southern Section champion. The Trojans have three players--sophomore Angela Won and juniors Sunny Lee and Michelle Barth--who helped the team win the inaugural title last year.
Young Pak of Cerritos Gahr won the individual title in 1998 as a sophomore.
