Library to Mark 10th Anniversary

Port Hueneme’s Ray D. Prueter Library will celebrate its 10-year anniversary Friday and Saturday with events that include a slide show on the history of the city and a marionette show.
On Friday, the library has scheduled a wine and cheese reception at 6 p.m., followed by the slide show narrated by historian Powell Greenland, author of “Port Hueneme: A History.”
Saturday’s activities include a used-book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a puppet show by Jim Gamble Puppet Productions.
The library, 510 Park Ave., won the 1991 design award from the Ventura County chapter of the American Institute of Architects and awards from the Illumination Engineering Society for lighting.
