Kaiser Permanente has donated medical equipment that will help poor residents of Baja California receive treatment in a village clinic, hospital officials said Thursday.
The international aid organization Project CARE will transport the equipment by plane to the Todos Santos clinic in Baja this week, said Kaiser spokeswoman Lisa Kort.
Among the $5,000 in materials Kaiser has collected are blood pressure cuffs, surgical gloves and gowns, scalpels, syringes, alcohol prep pads and infant scales.
Todos Santos is a small village on the Pacific coast near the tip of the Mexican state of Baja California.
