City officials have started to have monthly meetings with Placentia-Yorba Linda school board members to better relations between the two agencies.
Interim City Manager Daniel Miller said Councilwoman Barbara W. Kiley and Mayor Ken Ryan met for the first time with school board members Craig Olson and Karin Freeman last Tuesday.
The city is defending itself against an $8-million lawsuit filed by the school district, which claims it has not received its total share of redevelopment funds from the city over a period of several years.
Miller said that and other issues will be addressed.
“The purpose of the meetings is not just to talk about the lawsuit,” Miller said. “The goal is to establish a good relationship between the two agencies.”
