GIRLS’ BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS / DIVISION II-AA

Brea Olinda (25-5) vs. Redondo Union (26-5)
8:15 TONIGHT LONG BEACH STATE PYRAMID
This should be a far cry from Brea Olinda’s 71-41 victory in the third game of the season. Jennifer Owens (8.0 points per game) played limited minutes because of an arm injury, three freshmen were in the Redondo rotation and the Brea mystique took its toll. The Seahawks have one senior, point guard Stephanie Wong (10.0 points). When Ofa Tulikihihifo fractured her thumb six games ago, they implemented a full-court press, and since then have averaged about 70 points. They defeated Foothill, 71-53, in the semifinals. Brea guards Jackie Lord and Tara Hefferly must withstand the pressure, hit the outside shot and get the ball inside to Chelsea Trotter, who scored 26 last time.
