A faulty underground cable knocked out power Tuesday morning to 2,200 customers in the southern part of the city, a spokeswoman for Southern California Edison said.
The outage occurred at 8:17 a.m. in an area bounded by Briggs Road, 12th Street, Main Street and Converse Road, spokeswoman Nancy Williams said.
Power was restored seven minutes later to all but about 100 customers near 7th Street and Harvard Boulevard, who were without power until about 6 p.m.
No major problems were reported and Edison crews were on the scene late Tuesday replacing the cable.
