Any time I get a weekend free I go to Catalina. It’s like being on an island thousands of miles away and you’re right at home. It’s just a paradise. You have the mountains, the beach, perfect weather and clear skies. At night you can see the stars. And the water is gorgeous. We stay in Hamilton Cove. I walk back and forth to Avalon. I like to shop there. Legend is one of the stores I go to. We also fish for cod and marlin.
DISCOVERY: Armstrong’s restaurant does a great job with sand dabs. They have fresh Catalina sand dabs they saute.
